Week of October 15 ~ October 19

On Monday, students will receive back their reading comprehension test. The answer key will be stapled to the test. Please have your child review the questions (s)he missed and underline sentences from the text that support the correct answer choice.

On Monday, students will take the 1st Semester Interim District Assessment. This week, in reading students will continue to practice identifying the theme in fictional stories and identifying synonyms and antonyms. In grammar, students will practice identifying proper nouns. In writing, students will continue to conduct research to gather information based on their selected topic to create a mini-magazine demonstrating their understanding of the informational text structures (description, sequence, compare/contrast, problem/solution, and cause/effect).

The spelling words for this week will focus on digraphs. It can be found on p. 37. It is important students review their words daily and complete their homework in its entirety to receive full credit.

If you click on the Resources & Websites tab on the left hand side, there are blendspaces available for your child to practice skills.
